Quick Cardio Update

We had our appointment last week with Dr Grifka, and first I just have to say how  much I adore the staff in his office. They spend so much time and give Sloan the best attention.  I thought for sure she was going to cry as when we walked in she got very shy with the receptionist and then cried when I first laid her on the table.  But she didn't shed one tear after the staff started working with her...and she even reached out to Dr Grifka for him to hold her after her appointment was over.  Just warms my heart!

As for her appointment results - all checked out good!  Her blood pressures were right where they needed them to be, her x-ray looked good, the coils they placed during her recent cath didn't move, and she looked & sounded good!  She's continuing to grow and measured in at 2'6.25" and weighed in at 22 lbs 8oz.

Feeling blessed, and thankful, for a good appointment!

Eleven Months Old, Christmas & New Years!

Things have been going well with Sloan.  She enjoyed her first Christmas and New Year's...well she enjoyed watching her big brother tear through his gifts, and hers!  Health wise she seems to be doing really well too.  We head to the cardiologist later this month for her first check up since the cath so I am eager/anxious to see if things are still looking positive.  But I keep reminding myself, to just take things a day at a time and not worry so much (or try not to)!

She started her monthly synagis shots in November (helps to protect her against RSV).  It always makes me feel better when she gets those.  She did get her first cold which lasted around two weeks.  It never really kept her down but she did have a running nose and cough that kept her up at night.

New tricks:
  • I know I've said this many times before...but this girl is a talker!  She says: baby, pretty, artie (our dog), daddy, momma, hi & bye
  • She's a sippy cup pro
  • She's beginning to walk with her push toy.  One day she just stood up with it and started to push. She's slow and steady right now...but I know she'll be off before any of us know it
  • All of a sudden she's decided that she loves her paci.  She could care less for it a month ago

Now we are focusing on planning the big First Birthday!  Wow, I cannot believe it's been almost a year....and what a year it's been!

I'll post a cardio update after her appointment later this month.  Until then, here are some recent pictures.  Hope you enjoy!
