Lots and Lots of Updates

All is well in the Henrickson household, but since I last posted there have been lots of things happening!  We'll start out with catching up since our December cardiology appointment:

Cardiology - Sloan looks really good from a cardio standpoint.  No news, is good news in our book.  They have decided on her next surgery date to complete her Fontan with Dr Bove.  We'll head back to Ann Arbor at the end of August for her pre-op activities and heart cath.  Then surgery is set for September 16th.  We've been told that recovery should be around 10 days, assuming no issues.

While in Ann Arbor, we were able to drop off a donation of Sloan's gowns to the 11th floor - general care.  Sloan's grandmother (mimi) handmade each of these with the remaining fabric we received from Sloan's first birthday party.  I love how they turned out and hope they bring smiles to the faces of families who have little ones recovering from cardiac issues/procedures/surgeries.

Ready for my echo!

Happy Birthday - We now have a 2 year old!  We celebrated Sloan's 2nd birthday at the end of January with our family and close friends.  It's been amazing to watch this little girl grow and develop. You'd have no idea that she had a different start to life than any other two year old.

With Sloan's love of books, we held a bookworm birthday party for her.  Sloan would have you read books to her all day.  And if you are not reading to her, then she'll "read" to you.  Like her first birthday, I wanted to do something to celebrate this milestone while giving to the hospital that has done so much for us.  So I had guests write on the back of a new book that will be donated to UofM for children to enjoy while in patient at the hospital.

Happy 2nd birthday Sloan girl.  Here's to many, many MORE!
Florida - We took our annual trip to Florida in February and the kids had a blast!  We discovered Sloan's love for the pool during our trip.  She had no fear and was in, out, up, and down in that pool.  We were able to take the trip down with my parents (mimi & poppi), my sister Vicki and my nephew Aiden.  The kids keep talking about Florida to this day, and ask to go back to the pool!

Development - Sloan continues to develop well and I have no concerns on delays.  She weighs 28 lbs (59th percentile) and is 2'11" tall (87the percentile).  She continues to be a vocal little girl, quite the chatter box!  She loves, loves, loves her baby dolls, Disney princesses and playing make-up.  She can be quite a girly girl, and also down in the dirt with the boys when she wants.  I love watching her grow more and more into her own personality.

Hail to the Little Victors!
