| Showing off my new slippers from Zac & Christine |
It has been a pretty quiet day for Sloan. The doctors say that she seems to be responding well and that things are "settling out". They removed her catheter in hopes that she can start urinating on her own. She's been a little slow to get started so they are going to continue to monitor her. They said it's not uncommon that it takes a bit of time but that they'd make sure to relieve her bladder if she doesn't start on her own soon. They also are hopeful that they can close her chest tomorrow. We are anxious to see if they will be able to do this, but trying to not get ahead of ourselves in case they cannot.
We also had visitors today! Auntie Christine, Uncle Zac, Auntie Anne & Uncle Adam all came up to meet our lil lady. It was so nice to have them here and it provided us with a little relief and a nice distraction.

Tonight Kyle and I are hanging with Sloan and watching the superbowl. We decided that we'd root for San Francisco as their quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, donates to congenital heart defect organizations. His adoptive parents lost two children to CHDs so he has a vested interest in this cause.
Other than that, we are just hoping for another low key night where Sloan can relax and continue the healing process. She's been doing great so far with a few ups and downs along the way. But I was given the advice from another heart mom (thanks Jen!) to not worry about things until the doctors and/or nurses start to worry. So Kyle and I have begun to take that approach to this adventure.

Love the slippers! Too cute. Thinking of you, Robyn. Lots of prayers for Sloan!
