Waiting & Watching

Recovery time!

We just headed out of Sloan's room for the night.  She's been doing well since surgery and has maintained her levels thus far.  They have been weening her oxygen down and she's almost to room air level.  Around midnight tonight they are also hoping to begin to sprint her (have her practice breathing on her own) in hopes of getting her off the ventilator tomorrow if she does well.  They were able to close up her chest right after surgery so we don't have to worry about waiting for them to close her like the first surgery.    

Kyle and I remain cautiously optimistic that things are going in the right direction.  We are hoping for a good nights sleep and a good report from the nurses in the morning!
